Services

Whether your hearing needs call for 100% digital or simply the best product for your budget, we can provide you with the services and instruments you need.

Audiological Evaluations

Complete hearing testing for all ages, from newborn to adult, are provided by a Doctor of Audiology and a Certified Clinical Audiologist. Evaluations include measurement of hearing sensitivity for air and bone conduction, measurement of speech discrimination ability, and tympanometry.

Quality Hearing Aids

Family Hearing Aid Center offers a wide variety of hearing instruments featuring the latest technology. The most appropriate type and make of hearing aids will be recommended to you, based on your hearing loss results and lifestyle taken into consideration. We offer cleaning and maintenance after your hearing aid purchase to ensure that your hearing aids are performing optimally.

Diagnostic hearing evaluations

With our real ear measurement system, we can now measure and record the actual performance of your hearing aids while they are in your ears. This computer analysis helps us to verify that your hearing aid settings are precisely matched to your individual needs.

All-Make Hearing Aid Repairs

Our staff emphasizes cleaning and maintenance after your hearing aid purchase to ensure that you receive optimum performance and maximum benefit from your hearing aids. Repairs are provided on all makes and models, with loaner hearing aids available when necessary.

Hearing Aid Batteries

Common battery sizes are 5,10, 13, 312 and 675. To identify zinc air hearing aid battery size, manufacturers use an industry standard color code system.

Size 5- red
Size 10 (or 230)- yellow
Size 312- brown
Size 13- orange
Size 675- blue

Assistive Listening Devices

We offer information and guidance on use of assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones, FM transmitter systems, and infrared systems. These systems serve as additional help in situations when hearing aids do not provide adequate amplification.

Custom Hearing Protection

Any kind of noise exposure is potentially damaging to hearing, such as noise exposure from your work environment or just mowing your lawn. Custom-made noise protection earmolds are available to protect your hearing from such noises.

Custom-Made Swim Plugs

Custom-made swim plugs are available to protect your inner ear from water during water activities.

Otoacoustic emissions

Otoacoustic emissions is a non-invasive assessment that helps determine the health of the hair cells in your cochlea. Often times, this type of testing is used to detect hearing defects in newborn babies and in children who are too young to cooperate in audiological evaluations.

Auditory Brainstem Response Testing

Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) is a diagnostic test which involves the measurement of ongoing electrical activity in the brain and recorded via electrodes placed on the scalp and behind the ear. ABR is used for hearing screening, auditory threshold estimation, determining hearing loss type and degree, and auditory nerve and brainstem lesion detection.
