Pediatrics

In 2003 as part of the Texas Early Hearing Detection & Interpation (TEHDI), Family Hearing Aid Center performed more hearing tests on Infants than any other individual practice in Texas.

Otoacoustic emissions

Otoacoustic emissions is a non-invasive assessment that helps determine the health of the hair cells in your cochlea. Often times, this type of testing is used to detect hearing defects in newborn babies and in children who are too young to cooperate in audiological evaluations.

Auditory Brainstem Response

Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) is a diagnostic test which involves the measurement of ongoing electrical activity in the brain and recorded via electrodes placed on the scalp and behind the ear. ABR is used for hearing screening, auditory threshold estimation, determining hearing loss type and degree, and auditory nerve and brainstem lesion detection.
